The Glencraft culture is about having the freedom to be who you are and being able to enjoy what you do. To enable us to develop this culture, we employ people with a wide range of abilities and disabilities. The original founders had a vision of providing meaningful employment to unemployed local blind people and today, over 150 years later, we continue in that tradition. We currently have a number of blind people working on the factory floor but we have continued to expand our employment opportunities to accomodate a wider range of people from many different backgrounds.
As a registered charity, all of Glencraft’s profits are re-invested into the business so that we can provide even more career opportunities for disadvantaged, disabled and visually impaired employees. Our main value however, is still about helping people to realise their full potential and enabling them to they enjoy what they do int the process. We believe this is the most important and positive value to retain.
