When do I need a new Bed?
You need a new
bed when your old one is stained, torn, creaking, lumpy or
uneven, more than 8 years old, you awake with aches and pains,
or the quality of your sleep is affected.
It is however extremely difficult
to say how long an individual bed should last for.
This depends on many factors, including the cost and overall
quality of the bed, whether it is used in a guest room or
as a main bed, and the weight or sleeping habits of the user.
Beds
that are more than 8 years old probably do not give the comfort
and support that you need to get a good and healthy night’s sleep.
Heavy use or misuse may mean you need to change your bed
sooner, particularly if you feel any back pain, stiffness
or springs protruding from the mattress. You may also need to change
your bed if your personal circumstances or health change.

to choose from. Please find below examples and descriptions.

Caring for your new bed
Getting used to your new bed takes
time as chances are the springs and upholstery of your old
bed were not what they used to be. Please allow time for
your body to adjust to your new bed and for the fillings to settle.
Do
not bend or roll your mattress, this will damage the spring
unit and invalidate your guarantee.
We recommend that you
use a mattress protector which will protect it from coming
into direct contact with body moisture or other liquids.
Do
not use detergent or chemical cleaners on your mattress as
it is likely to damage the fabric and stitching.
Turn your mattress regularly unless you have bought a “no
need to turn” mattress which has a single sleeping surface e.g.
memory foam. It is important that you turn your mattress once every 3
months for the first two or three months and then monthly thereafter.
This will prolong the lifespan of your mattress.
If you are putting your mattress onto a bed with slats,
we recommend that you put hardboard/plywood or hard cardboard onto the
slats to prolong the lifespan of your mattress.
